On behalf of mental health and addictions service providers in the Central West LHIN, CMHA Peel wants to hear from people aged 16 to 24 and their families about your experience of getting to the right mental health or addictions service. If you live in Brampton, Caledon, Dufferin County, Malton, Rexdale or Woodbridge areas, please fill out a survey to answer the following question:

 

"What do you think the experience of accessing mental health & addictions services should be like in your community?"

Mental health refers to a general sense of well-being, which includes feeling well-balanced in all areas of your life (work/school, home, friends/relationships, hobbies). How you think, feel, behave, and express yourself all can impact on and reflect your level of mental health. When you are mentally healthy, you generally feel good, are able to perform to the best of your abilities, can fulfill your day to day responsibilities, and can cope with the stress that arises in your daily life.
 

SUICIDE

Everyone experiences different emotions at different times in their lives. Different people can experience the same event in different ways, with varying intensities. Emotions come and go on a daily basis and we usually are able to cope with the “ups” and “downs”. These “ups” and “downs” are normal.

DRUGS & YOUTH

A drug is any substance other than food intended to affect the function of the body or mind. Drugs can include prescription medication, and illegal “street drugs”. There are also other substances that can cause a “high”, but were not intended for that purpose.
